Refresher Topics New Page

New Page

This page is for the benefit of existing clients, and is intended as a refresher for the training that we provide clients with. This is not a complete tutorial.

The site we created for you will have a distinct look and feel. This is preserved by the rules we discussed during training. Each page that we have supplied is in fact a template for all future additions.

To expand your site, you will need a new page to hold the additional information. Open your website folder. Then, highlight the page that you want to duplicate; for this example it is the page index.htm.

Copy and Paste the page into the same window/folder.

You now end up with a new file called copy of index.htm.

This file has the exact same look and content that index has. You now have to change the name of the file to reflect the new content you are going to place in that page.

Change copy page name.

When you decide on a name make it less than eight characters and all lower case, with no spaces.

Now the content needs altered: open the new page in your editor and apply the images and text. Change the page title and description; then save.

Edit Content

Now you have your new page. Open the remaining pages and create a hyperlink to the new page. Job done.

FTP all changes to your web space

FTP all pages that have the new link to your latest page, and the new images / pages. Test online. Sit back and plan your next addition.
